This maybe a bit of a dumb question although I guess it's only dumb if you know the answer :) I have used many CMS before & came across, & thought I would try, PHPFusion. So far, I like what I see a lot! However, I have a simple question which I searched for on here but can't seem to find anyone with this problem. How do I display my Forum on the index page? When I view it, all I get is the two icons that show 'Forums with new posts since last visit' Forums with no news posts since last visit' but no categories or Forums & I have created many!

Is this likely to be a theme issue or am I missing something? Unless the members can see the Forum they are never likely to post in it! :) I have checked & rechecked the settings after creating a Category/Forum & even if I change to Public from Member for the Forum it still doesn't display. As Admin is obviously a Member I would expect that Admin can view it all anyway if it was left at Member. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

I tried making each forum Public in the Admin Area by editing the Forum after it's creation. Is that the same thing? If so, it didn't work. Also, why should that matter? If it is set to Members Only then surely Admin can see it & I can't.

Yeah! Same access, I'll just add forums to it :)

I know some themes use their own Forum but they shouldn't overwrite files in the Core should they?

Sweet, no worries then. :G

Anyway, did that theme overwrite any forums file because I see your forums are set correct but they do not display on the forum index. Well try uploading PHPFusion 7.02.07 again see if that helps or yup try another theme. I take it the forums were fine before you installed that theme.

Yeah possibly. Try re uploading the original /forum/ folder from PF 7.02.07.

Just done that now & it works. Is that normal for PHPFusion? I always thought it bad practice to overwrite Core files when adding themes or addons in PHP Scripts. Not criticizing anyone, just so I know what I am up against when I'm adding anything! :)

Some mods overwrite or make changes to core files and some don't depends on what it is.
