Hello all.

Recently my PHPFusion based site begun being spammed with TONS of porno and kinky crap all coming from China IP Addresses.

I don't know if they are bots or real users but I'm getting tired of adding IP addresses (all from China) and email addresses all finishing by .cn to the black list of users and deleting all their crappy posts. This method only works for a couple of days since after that another batch of new users from China will register and will start flooding the forum with porn again.:@

I wonder if there is a quick method for totally disable a specific country to access my site (China in this case but may be other eventually), and how to do it.

Any help would be highly appreciated and much needed.

Many thanks.

Cheers.

What public access do you have? Where are they posting? Forums? Make that forum member only? Or just ban the member and enable the registration system!

Thanks LSainsbury.

Registration System is active and they register as users (true users or bots I can't tell).

Also, they post mainly Comments under News Categories. Of course, if they are registered users they can post, right?

So, the question remains:

Is a quick method for totally disable a specific country to access my site?

Any ideas?

Hi! I have exactly the same problems as you describe, spam in the comments. I also banned users and IP-addresses but the problem is still the same.

I know there is a way to block countries using the .htaccess file or similar in the root of your server but I'm not able to find anything "credible" and well explained....:o

Someone did that to my site, too.

They would register as a name and a number. Something like "Diert886"
Then they would post New Comments on all the news about stupid porno stuff.

They were registered, but once I put the registering requirements to e-mail verification then it seemed to stop.

Try that. It seems to stop the spammers.

Maybe a quick google search will help? Brought up this:

Install the security system infusion on your site.
You can find it at www.bs-fusion.dewww.bs-fusion.de

EDIT: The new SecSys also has a Proxy White AND Blacklist...

You can set 'New members activated by admin?' to Yes...
Under Forum Content:
set Forum Accessible To: Public
set Forum Postability: Member
Then only 'Activated' members can post.
Hope that helps

That's exactly what I was looking after! I already implemented it and it seems to work fine since I forged my access via some public and anonymous Chinese proxy servers and I got my access blocked. :)

Thanks a million for the tip! Surely it's a starting point for a more elaborated security mechanism. :)

This sound's interesting, Xessive. The problem is I don't understand jack about German and I even don't know where to download it from... :( Also, if I can have some documentation in English that would help too.

Thanks.

Please read the installation instructions carefully. You need to add a few lines of code to maincore.php.
If unsure reply here or PM me.. Good Luck.
If needed I will export the spamwords list for you.. (already have 4 pages full...)
