Alright, I really need some advice here.
Let's begin with the fact that I have 2 sites that I want to merge together - WITH IPB 2.3 forums, using the IPB account. So I want users to be able to login using the same user account on both fusion sites and ipb forums, and be able to comment on news articles images vote on polls rate stuff and do all the user functions on both of the fusion sites fully, using the ipb 2.3 accounts. same thing goes to the forums themselves of course.
Also, I want me to be able to go into the php fusion admin panel still (duh).
Yes, I know it has to be a mod coded...there actually is one, which i'm planning to use. No point of making sure its exactly what i want (as i listed above) because its the only one.
But thats not my point. My point is, V7 is releasing soon (when is it coming out again?), and i would obviously want to upgrade, but of course i dont think i would be able to use that mod to integrate the 2 sites and forums like that.
What should I do? Should I integrate them now and wait for V7 and then panic on how to upgrade with all the ipb messing around fusion's feet or de-merge or do something to make it all work? Or should I wait for V7 and then beg someone to code an integration mod for PHPFusion 7 and IPB 2.3? I'm really not sure,

Heres the link to my site, just in case. As you can see I have 2 of them.

IPB is 100% needed, and using different accounts for everything would be totally stupid - but not using IPB isnt an option, since i bought it and it's like the core of my site, there are specific mods that need to be installed for IPB that will make up my site. (yes the mods interfere with the user accounts but that should be no problem since the sites would use IPB ones).

Thank you!

The short answer is. Don't do anything before V7. That's just begging for more issues.

Oh, and be prepared that it might not be so easy to find someone skillfull or even helpfull enough to do this for you.

Are you any good with php yourself?

Ah ok ;) Well can I at least try to use the integration script to see what happens? Let's say I just backup all sql and files, then do the stuff, and then see what happens?

Make sure you backup (and restore) your DB using PhpMyAdmin...
But don't blame me if everything fails. Do it at your own risk.

Or wait a few days for some other responses in this thread. Maybe someone has already tried it and knows some more...

I'm not much of an expert, but bridging is never a piece of cake.

Google "troubleshooting bridge SMF (or PHPbb) forum" with Joomla!, e107 or else, and you'll see :)

And SMF and PHPbb are much more popular than IPB...

IPB is the best. To me and some other people at least. I bought it for full price so whatever.
Well I guess I'll just leave it unbridged for now but it's gonna be pretty necessary... Has anybody done this before (PHPFusion+IPB)?
