I tried the search function. For instance, if I try searching for a word such as "apor" in "entire forum" - I get 0 hits, which is good.
But as soon as I narrow down, searching a specific forum part I get the following error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'tf.forum_id=45 AND (thread_subject LIKE '%apor%' || post_message LIKE '%apor%' at line 5

Any thoughts?

To my site? It is a site I have put up only for my own testing. Using xampp, so you don´t have the ability to see the site.

I fired up my V7 test site using WampServer and sure enough, I got the exact same error that you posted.
However, when I did the same on my live site [identical to PC site], no error, just got "0 Forum Posts found matching search criteria".

I wouln't worry about it, there's always a few glitches when using xampp or wampserver and such. ;)

Oh, ok..that was good to hear :) I´m thinking about putting a copy of my v7 site at my live site. However, I have used the same table prefix for v7 as I did in v6, oops

Ok, Ive done a fresh installation live now www.clan-smaka.se/v7. The problem still exists. However, if Im logged out and I dont see the forums where I dont have permissions (since Im logged out) it works perfectly. But when I log in and do the same search in an "open" forum (exactly as I did when logged out) I get the above errors.

Feels as a bug, and probably nothing hard to fix for the creators :)

EDIT:
Be aware that searching All forums, works fine logged out as logged in, even as superadmin. Its when I choose a specific forum to search (as a superadmin) I get the error when logged in.

When I log in as a normal user (have different users with no permissions and not included in any groups) I can search perfectly as well.

And if I add this normal user to a group with certain permissions, I can still use the search function perfectly.

If I also add him as administrator (not superadmin) the search also works perfectly even if I give him all rights.

BUT!! If I delete him from admin and add him as a superadmin, the error occurs.

To make a long story short ;) Normal users, group-members, administrators (even with full permissions) can search when specifying a certain forum. But superadmins cannot search specific forums, only "All forums".

Yes, you're right. I hadn't noticed that. However, it's a minor inconvenience. At least your members will be unaware of any fault.

You should report this to the Mantis Bug Tracker.

That's true, all users will be able to use it :)

Where do I find the mantis bug tracker?

EDIT:
Found it, and added this issue.

This issue has been solved by digi. The only thing I don't understand is what "SVN" means? He wrote: Fixed in SVN

See this site about SVN (SubVersioN):
http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads

If you try the search function here on "entire site" you'll find this news explaining how to be on SVN

http://www.php-fusion.co.uk/news.php?...admore=398

Incidentally it takes a moment to be really familiar with...
