HACKED!!! help please

You say you have a password for the admin folder? Is this done by means of .htaccess? If it is, then Try removing that kind of password protection to see if access continues as normal. I tried that once and it interferes with admin panel access as it should normally do.

If you still fear a hack is going on, aside from checking for additional files, see the modified date on existing php-fusion installation files. all files should have more or less the same date, the date of the installation, unless you havent modified any files that is... If a date seems odd to you look into the file and spot any strange looking code.

If you are not a code knowledgeable person, then you will have to manually replace suspected files from your installation. Some hackers modify existing files to cover their traces. Server access logs are another place to look into if your hosting provider has them readily accessible for you.

Also, if you're on kroax 5.3 or less. upgrade to 5.4, there's a security hole in it.

switch to filezilla or smartftp or any other free ftp client, they are excellent and free of charge.

You could have been hacked before you upgraded... so i would reupload the files, and make sure you change all admin passwords, on the site, on the ftp and to mysql if you can.

more or less, if your site is vanilla and not modified in any other way i'd reupload php-fusion as well. (back up first just in case) be carefull no to over writ config.php.

But most importanly, change admin password, and change ftp password and mysql password (this need to be changed both server side and in config.php)

Of course passwords in each case must be different

Anyhow, cracked software is always a bit risky to use. However, I fail to see how a FTP program can be recoded to upload harmful code in to any give vital file in any give of the 1000's of CMS or Blogg systems available. So statistically speaking, no the crack is not likely cause of this.

Never ever do drugs ... crack is baaad.... and its worse when u get a FREE software like smartFTP cracked. SmartFTP is free software, there is no need to get it cracked and getting non-free software cracked is also not recomended. If u do get stuff like that, never admit it in public forum.
