How can I get a Youtube Video displayed in the Welcome Panel?

you need to enable the youtube bb code within admin settings, then copy the url into the welcome panel with [ youtube ] before and [/ youtube ] after the address....

The welcome panel uses HTML. If the video has embed code available, then just enter that straight into it.

Well, some videos have embedding disabled, in which case you cannot embed it.
And I believe no bbcode works anywhere except the forum.

hey, if i copy paste the embed code from youtube to admin settings - welcome panel, nothing happens. if i make a custom page with the same code, it works.
so do i have to edit the welcome_panel.php file? and what code do i have to paste?

No, you have to go to Administration -> system -> BB codes
Enable Youtube/googlevideo voila, it works
like this

This only works for the forum. The welcome panel does not recognize bbcodes. I believe you would have to edit the welcome panel file, but coding is not my thing.
