I loaded a new theme and now the pages are blank and I can't get back to change the them to make the site work again. Is their a file the controls the themes or is it the mysql DB.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Go to PREFIX_users in phpMyAdmin. Edit the first row (should be your user_id). Change the user_theme input (or whatever it is - something with theme in it) to "Default" without quotes. Save and it should work.

If you Put it as the default theme for the whole site, you'll have to edit (I think the table is) PREFIX_settings or PREFIX_sitesettings. You get the idea. Just do the same as above, and change the theme part to Default

Where is phpMyAdmin? Is that in the files in the site or in the mysql data folder?

It's a webbased application used to manage your sql database. If you have a different way of managing your database, then use that.

delete the faulty theme folder, rename a working theme folder to the name of the faulty one.

Thank just changing the theme name to the one that did not work did its job. Also the phpmyadmin is cool tool for me to use to make new data base with out going to the server evertime I need a new one.

Thanks,
Jonathan

I have the same problem and the renaming trick does not solve it. Where do I find the Prefix column in the DB? Ok I figured that one out. Now just one question remains what is the safe way of installing new themes? I tried it twice and both times I get a blank screen

tamtam, i'd have to guess that you are either using:

* a poorly written theme;
* a theme not designed for your version of fusion;
* an improper folder structure.

the proper way to install a theme?
unzip it and upload the new theme folder to your /themes directory.

for folder structure, look at the theme folders that came with your php-fusion.

remember that v7 and v6 are NOT interchangeable..

i hope that helps
