For some months I worked rather intensely with the cms Drupal. It was really facinating, but I ended up with going back to PHPFusion as the system that met my demands. Also it is simpler and therefore (I believe) swifter.

But I did think that if ever I were to write a phd (or a cookbook), I'd use Drupal because of the possibility to have articles be parents or children of other articles. Well, I'm not going to write any such thing, But just for fun, I have made my own PF able to use both subcategories and subarticles. I think it is a great improvement. Maybe there is something for our developers to look into. For version 8 perhaps.

You are welcome to visit my johslind.dk/fusion. Press the subheader's link 'Artikler' and see how it works, best in the category 'Nonsence'. There is also an article about it.

Either I understand you wrong or it is nor working as it is suposed to. See the attachment: No links when I think I should see them.

BTW: If your main intention is to show the mods you made, then this subject is better placed on the mods site rather than here.

Yes, sorry. I may have forgotten to mention that right now the links can only be seen if you use the theme 'tabel7' (or 'Gilette'wink. I can see that you used the theme 'Hobugt7'. - There is a theme switcher at the bottom of the side.

My main intention is to suggest a general improvement of the system.

Also, the mods site seems to be a little "dead". I submitted a panel there nearly two weeks ago, and still there is no reaktion.

But I do want to thank you that you cared to have a look at my site. And you are welcome to try again with the right theme, table7.

Alcázar and Acrox999: Please don't lead this thread astray.
It is about making our PHPFusion still better.

I use PHPFusion a lot, unfortunately no real multilingual infusion or mod since Wooya dropped M-Fusion. I hear it's for a future version, but for now I use the old e107 for multilingual sites.

But still, PHPFusion is easier to handle :) ...

Why not use my language switcher?

Quartzskyte: I don't quite see, how the multilingual issue is related to my suggestion to enable subcategories and subarticles in PF. You might want to explain further.

Elactos: My site johslind.dk/fusion has its own locale-switcher. But this is not my concern in this thread. If you read my posts, you will see what it is about.

By the way: You can switch the locale files, but you can not switch the written content like articles, news etc.

The multilingual issue is extremely interesting, and I think you should open a new thread about that.

Anything can be made multilingual if it can be written with php, i.e. panels and custom pages.

Probaly it would be rather easy to make the articles.php select categories only with the active locale. But I don't think it ought to be done.

I'd had liked to make a qoute from this site's Code of Conduct. But that link leads to the Sourceforge. So let me quote from the mods site:

Please stay on topic. Ensure you post your topic in the correct forum. For general conversation, please use the PHPFusion General Discussion forum.

Well, this is a General Discussion forum. That may be the reason why my friends think that they don't need to stay on topic. I could not find any other suitable forum for my suggestion (about subcategories and subarticles, if anybody should have forgotten :)). But now, at long last, I have discovered that there exists a bugtracker that may be used for such purposes.

I think I've found a tolerable solution to the problem how to make your articles multilingual.

It will need a modification of your theme.php so I cannot explain it here, where mods are banned. But you will find an easy way to do it at this address:

Please stay on topic in this, and other, threads. Irrelevant comments about anything else than what johslind is debating here is out of line and johslind is an old, experienced and esteemed member of this community, the very first person ever to integrate Tiny MCE with Fusion, have some respect for people who work hard to improve our CMS. There are other threads where different CMS's can be discussed.

johslind, nice to see you around again!

Thanks, KEFF.
Yes, from time to time I need some brain gym. And I think that PHPFusion is so good that it deserves to become still better. That is what I am working on.
I'll do another thread about multilingual sites.
