Hi,

I recently moved my site to a new server and after i backed up and restored, my photogallery messed up. All the links for the images had changed. So i deleted my categories and made a new one and started adding new pictures. I noticed the album number was 14 and the images were on 482 and counting.. (i had about that many photos before i deleted). Then i noticed my photogallery album image had a black background on a transparent gif, so i tried it with a few other transparent images including .png and they all came up with black backgrounds.

So basically..

1). Does any one know why the links changed, but worked when i made new albums?

2.) Is there a way to reset the album and photo back to 0 so i can start fresh?

3). Why is the a black background colour on my transparent images (.gif, .png)? (This is the same for avatars too. Maybe server setting?).

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Louis.

1. You said you moved to a new server, are your db names the same??

2. Download php-fusion again and upload only the photogallery.

3.Is your theme the same? may be there was a backup error since you most likely restored a previous backup.

Oooh we know about that one !!!

Bet it's because your new server has a different setting of safe_mode from your old server.

Fusion uses safe_mode to change the directory structure for photos. With safe_mode on, everything is in one directory. With safe_mode off, they're all in separate directories.

If you're on Servage.net, log onto the admin page, go to "Web Server", select your hostname then click advanced. Safe mode setting is top of the list. Other servers are probably similar.

Best wishes,
Janet & Nick

Thanks for the replys.

I had safe mode turned on, on the new server which i've now changed. I still have the problem with transparent images turning black when uploading. It has something to do with compression method, maybe i have a certain setting which needs changing in php.ini?

Does anyone have an example of a good php.ini file which works the best for php fusion and security?

i wouldnt suggest playing with the php.ini if you dont know what your doing. Call your host, usually their willing to check and change those settings according to your needs. Who is your host by the way ??

yes but php.ini is not software its part of your Server Files which you can edit to suit your needs. If this only happens when uploading images to Fusion then thats a different story.

Any .gif, .png images with transparent background turn black if i have GD2 compression enabled. Works ok if i have GD1. But if i upload other images, screenshots etc. they turn different colour so i have to change back to GD2.
