I agree with you ther, I use to use hem before I bought decent hosting but for Free 000webhost is great, and ideal for any site that is just starting.

Ok though is there a way to create a php-fusion forum not a site as such but a forum system no portal or anything, could this be done?

Yes just use the forum. Go to admin system admin and change site opening page to /forum/index.php and disable all links and if you do not want to use the sides just exclude them for all forum pages.

It is strongly recommended not to use free hosting because it is not very reliable. Just use Hostgator and Dreamhost.

I second laserpointers suggestions of Hostgator. I have been using them for years and am really satisfied. Plus you can search around the net for some discount codes as they are always available if you search.
