Last night I was able to get the site up with the basic version / level of the install pack however nothing from my db seemed to survive.

Well - good news and bad news. The good news is for no particular reason, the site just started working and that the old database is still in the background and visible in the back-up page of the administration panel as well as the mySQLadmin. The bad news is that PHP-fusion created its own db called fusion6b4ff_ however it should refer to my original db called gojuryun_

Also now as of this morning the site is showing an error via Firefox.
The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This webpage has a redirect loop.
The webpage at http://www.gojuryu.net/index.php has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

Well the roll back worked however is now not accessing the db. I still receive the error
Unable to establish connection to MySQL
2002 : Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

...and my database still has two prefixes:
- fusion6b4ff_
- gojuryun_

I am going to clean out all of the 'fusion6b4ff_' db so only my original remains.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Deleted the tables "fusion6b4ff_" from my database leaving only the original tables "gojuryun_".

The site came up one time - which created plenty of excitement however upon refreshing it failed again.....

A moment of brilliance. I opened my config.php file and verified that the file matches the database username login. Bingo - they didn't so the easiest step was to create a username in mySQL matching that in the config.php file. Viola! Now the installation www.gojuryu.net is visible again however not working very well.

We believe it is a bad upload so we will now re-upload all of the files [not including the setup.php and the config.php]

So to completely finish the fix. We discovered that the www.gojuryu.net redirects to gojuryu.net/index.php however when we go directly to the url www.gojuryu.net/news.php we had no problems at all.

The solution was to log in to the admin panel, go to settings and then main settings and change "Site opening page:" to news.php.

Everything is working perfectly now.

Dropping a line in here won't help you. Please start a proper thread specifying your specific problems. Also post other required information as noted in 'Read before posting'.
