Your front page doesn't tell visitors what your site is about. You've got an empty welcome panel!
That's website building 101 - you have to display what your site is about simply and concisely.
If you want people to register to view the hidden content, you should at least let them know what it is they can access by registering.

Mega, if you dont present anyone with a teaser of what your site is about, how do you expect anyone to sign up?

Put yourself in the visitors shoes "--umm, why should I sign up on another site? What has this site to offer?..." (?).
