I haven't been paying much attention to all the newer versions lately and notice that I've fallen behind quite abit.

Can someone remind me of the best way to upgrade my site from v7.01.02 to the latest version?

TIA!

Hi man,

Welcome back.

It's all in the readme in the 7.02 package.

FIRST BACKUP YOUR FILES AND SQL DATABASE!!!

Right please follow my instructions.

OK when you have downloaded the php-fusion 7.02.03 zip from the download. unzip it to your desktop yes.

Now when you have unzipped it you will see the folder named "PHPFusion_7-02-03_full"

Open that folder.

Now inside that folder called "PHPFusion_7-02-03_full" you will see another 3 folders, the readme and AGPL yes?

Now see the folder named "upgrade v701"

Open that.

Now you see that file named upgrade.php yes?

Upload that upgrade.php to your site /administration/ folder yes!

Now go back to the folder "PHPFusion_7-02-03_full" and you see the folder names "files" yes?

Open that folder.

See the folder named /locale/

Upload and overwrite /locale/ to your site root.

Now go to your site.

Now go to Admin >>> System >>> Upgrade

Click the Upgrade Database button.

Now upload all the rest of the files and folders inside the files folder except the setup.php and _config.php we do not need them as we are performing an upgrade.

Now your site SHOULD be successfully upgraded from 7.01.05 to 7.02.03

You will also need to CHMOD the following files and folders to 777:

downloads/
downloads/images/
downloads/submissions/
downloads/submissions/images/
ftp_upload/

Happy Days!

Hey I just noticed, I joined this site, downloaded the current version and created my site all in one day!

Aug 1, 2008.

That shows how easy this software is to use!

Happy Anniversary to Atheists Today. :P

edit: I went through my site last night and now my error report is a page long.

I really do like using php-fusion, but if upgrading makes most of the mods/infusions we're using useless, I may have to just stop upgrading.

There must be a code which contains a SQL query which has no result. So it is giving errors. To find that code, try disabling your panels one by one OR all of them and then see.

Well, that I am not sure of, not sure if you need to upgrade to 7.01 first then upgrade to 7.02 but I am sure the other guy's know the answer to that one. We will wait and see what the other guys say.

I think you can upgrade directly from 7.00.0x to 7.02.03 but I am not 100% sure on that as I have never upgraded from 7.00.0x so we will wait for someone to confirm what to do.
