I like when people say what they do, and do what they say.

Domi deserves credit for doing that in relation to his Theme initiative.

Well done!

The AddonDB here on UK is supposed to be THE central database for "everything" and I hope Domi's initiative will trigger others to upload their work here, regardless of if they have it available elsewhere.

What a wonderful initiative. Domi is one hard working fella. It must be so tedious having to upload all them themes. I do not believe much others would be prepared to do the same for the project.

I believe this initiative will help PHPFusion in a big way to signal to anyone who has doubts about PHPFusion being open and free. This initiative will help inspire others to share their code and will help bring others into this delightful site.

I believe in free sharing this is why I use open source.
I believe the more sites that share all peoples work the better thus giving more exposure to talented developers and designers alike and will help inspire more people to come out from inside the caves and get involved in this mass sharing event.

I believe this site will be where most people come so this is where peoples works will get most exposure. It is a win win situation for everyone.

1. Users are happy more theme to use.
2. Designers and developers get more exposure.
3. PHPFusion is seen more and more open giving respect to others.

When Digitanium founded this CMS he coded it for him and his mate's Stargate site which was the foundations and building ground to what PHPFusion is today. The founder believed in open sharing and gave everything to the people.
Digi has achieved so much with his work, he has helped people in so many ways. He has helped us build communities, connect more people and helped us all who use his cms to be inspired to code php and learn more about it. There is so much more I could say but I will not since this thread i not about that but you get my point how it all connects together.

PHPFusion is one of the best communities I have ever hung about in for such a great length of time and it keeps me addicted to it no matter how much things get to you. PHPFusion has a general community of talented and inspired coders who have also helped contribute towards this CMS which is a feat and a half.

The distribution of all works by everyone is inevitable when you use an open source project, Domi has reflected on that and has moved forward to achieve that to a greater level.

Around 2010 or 11, not sure exactly, the Addons DB guidelines were set in stone which required all addons including themes, mods, panels etc to be fully XHTML and CSS validated. Sometimes in this case it was not possible when HTML5 and CSS3 came around. So many good quality themes were rejected by approvers simply because XHTML requires a closing tag or silly lower case chars. This was making people anxious, ****ed off and tired. Who wants to code a nice looking theme that works then submits it just for it to be rejected because of a missing tag.
I think removing that requirement was important in getting people sharing again and will also help set the level of expectation when it comes to sharing PHPFusion 8 themes.

Good work Domi keep it up.

Thank you for the support, I really appreciate it!

Now when the validation requirements are gone from the AddonDB I do hope as Richard also mention, that it will trigger more developers to once more share their work on a larger scale.

I want us to have a strong community that is both open and flexible.
Naturally within some reason, but as much as I think we can handle.

As with our Development forums, they are closed for the general public regarding posting.
This is because we have a clear vision.
We know what we are lacking and we know what we need to do with PHPFusion 8.
If we where to have these Development forums open for everyone we would be taking a risk to stand with debates rather than Development, as some people may contest "Do not answer them all".
It is just bad manners to ignore people, It is better to face our reality.

We want that everyone who whish to participate in the Development of PHPFusion applys to the Development section before we let them in. If a applicant have some credentials that we can use, we will accept the application ( Staff Application )

While everyone also need to remember that we are fully open and accept submits to our Github resp and we also accept Roadmap suggestions from any member.
We are just minimizing the debate space some because we simply do not have enough resources to handle it efficiently and in a respectable way.
