I think I have a really good layout and a very user friendly site.. I am getting tons of visitors but very little are posting or registering..

Any ideas to help make my site better and make people want to stay there longer?

At the moment, your left panels are not displaying properly. One of the best ways to target an audience is to make it obvious what the site is about (music or whatever) and target similar sites with reciprocal links. Once you start to attract people with the same interests, membership should start to snowball. Also update regularly so people will not get bored and stop looking at your site.
Similarly, use the correct search terms and meta tags so that your site is visible for various search engines.
