When i go to post a news article, i get to type in the following two boxes: NEWS and EXTENDED NEWS.

The first problem i am having is that when you go to view the news, the text in the NEWS box doesn't appear on the screen, but it shows you everything you typed in the EXTENDED NEWS box.

Another issue is the LINK button. Lets say if i wanted to link to the following website WWW.GOOGLE.COM, the actual link in the button would have HTTP://WWW.OURAUSTRALIA.NET/WWW.GOOGLE.COM

To view both examples, please visit the following site: http://www.ouraustralia.net/news.php?readmore=2

No it's not a song. Its just that i did a post yesterday and this forum was stuffing up a lot. I had about 6-12 failed attempts. I thought just writing A and B for subject and body was quick just to see if my post would work today.

Oh and i recently upgraded to v6.00.307, but that still didn't fix the issue. And i also have been looking for patches on this site but i still have no luck finding something to fix my particular issue.

On looking, the read more link is not showing either. Try changing your theme and see if the error still appears, its possibly an error with some theme files? I havent actually come across this particular error before.
Cheers

Is there a fix on here that maybe i have missed for my problem?

If i can't find a fix soon i may download some old version and try that.

I just re-installed the CMS (the latest version), and the issue i am explaining is still occuring. But i think sadly it's how it's meant to work.

When i log in for the first time, i get the news section, with the NEWS description and the read more button.

BUT ...

If i click news categories, then select the news item i want to see, it only shows what i have written in the EXTENDED NEWS box only.

This is pretty irritating and i hope someone can help me in changing this so that when you click on news category article you want, it shows both of the NEWS and EXTENDED NEWS items on the same screen.

OK HERE's MY TIP:

Take off News Categories from the menu. Why you may ask? Well when you click it you obviously get taken to the news categories. Then in the news categories, you'll see each individual story. Now the issue is if you click on a story you like, it will only show what you've typed in the EXTENDED NEWS box, and what you typed in the NEWS box doesn't get displayed at all. The only way to see what is in the NEWS box is to link to news.php

So if you write the first half of the story in the NEWS box, and the last half in the EXTENDED NEWS, you'll never see the full news story if you enter the news section via News Categories link on the menu

I'm not sure I understand why people don't just copy and paste what they wrote in News into Extended News... that way it shows on the main page.. then on the read more it is there too? I mean, that's what I do. Is that so hard?

yup thats what I've been doing so far as well ... but it would be nice if it did it itself without me copying and pasting, ;)
