Does anyone know of any good, free PHP and HTML editors? I've been using NVU for my HTML but for some reason cannot handle PHP very well.

Any ideas?

Looks good although its shareware, 30 day free trial. I'll give it a go and maybe see if its worth paying for but are there any free ones around?

EDIT: Ok there was a post above this one, guess it was deleted. I'm not just talking to myself :)

LOL

Sorry about that robo_rat. I posted what I use, because I thought it was free until I went to their website to get more info to post here for you. Than I noticed that it has a 30 day trial.

Than I start scratching my head...I know I have been using this program for well over 30 days, and I never paid anything or even knew I was supposed to for that matter. Than thought about the Splash screen/box that always comes up when you first start the program. I got used to just clicking on "OK". Now that I go back and look at that splash screen/box I realize that I shouldn't be using it. LOL

I never knew that I was on day 122 of a 30 day evaluation period. :o

If you want simple and lightweight - with good syntaxing - try PSPad. I just tried it today myself because I could install it on a flash drive. Already I'm liking it a little bit more than what I normally use: Dreamweaver. And it is free!

It does some handy stuff like adding the other complementary brace (or parentheses, bracket, double quotes, etc.) plus it highlights the matching braces (and that others stuff) when you put your cursor on such an item. I find that most useful in big blocks of code and whenever I'm tracking down errors that come from such items missing.

I find wordpad to be a little better than notepad.

The only trick is if you want to save a wordpad file, you have to add the .wri extension yourself, or it will automatically save it as a .doc or .rtf file.

You have to save it with no formatting too, or crazy things will happen.
