I removed the link to my guestbook due to spamming a few weeks ago. I went to guestbook.php last night and found over 1000 spam messages in my guestbook. Now I have disabled the guestbook entirely.

1. Any suggestions to prevent this?
2. Any others having the same problem? :(

You got the spam protected guest book installed? I've never been spammed using it.

This is a blessing. Previously I only deleted the link to it and randomly did a drop table. ^_^

I used two different things to finally bring the spammers to a stop
1. I installed the validation code however it only stopped about half of the spam coming in.

2. I banned the following IP addresses which were duplicate spammers and it appears to be the same ads spammed to other fusion sites as well.
Any of these IP's look familiar?
205.188.116 Manhatten NYC
68.65.96.1 Spotsylvania Virginia USA
206.82.130.21 Lausanne Switzerland
12.154.236.18 East Brunswick New Jersey USA

from this I also have a request. is there a mode or a simple 'push button' mode someone can design for the guestbook that would automatically ban the IP of the spammer? I think it should be an easy one.
