For some reason I can't disable guestposts within settings_misc.php. What to do? Are some php files corrupt, or do I have to alter the DB, and if so: where?

I recognize that. it is not in any file. You need to access your database DIRECTLY and alter the table settings and the corresponding cell.

So I guess it's the guestposts within settings:

it looks like this:

guestposts | TINYINT | 1 | (empty) | UNSIGNED | null | 0 | (empty) |

Yes, but You should browse the table to alter the setting.

Did that.... but I guess there's something really wrong:

Compared it to other DB's. All DB's that "won't allow guestcomments" have the same settings.

I think You are looking at the cell content and its conditions, as you posted earlier. You are not looking at the actual DATA. If You look properly You should see that there.

Look at this...
Structure is selected, slightly darker grey:
www.conram.com/images/Image1.gif

and then You select BROWSE:

www.conram.com/images/Image2.gif

When You browse, you should be able to see a small EDIT (the PEN):

www.conram.com/images/Image3.gif

And then lastly you should change "0" to "1":

www.conram.com/images/Image4.gif

lastly go to the bottom of the page and hit GO on Your right, as in making the wanted changes.

didn't have to change a thing.... it already was 1, but guests can still post guestcomments.

EDIT: it had to be changed to "0"

"0" should be no, cause that is what I have.
