It's never-ending... sorry to keep posting.

I have two sites going now, both are version 6.01.10. However, when you click on the Database Backup icon on both sites, the appearance and functionality are different.

On one site (the functional one), the Backup Options only list the Backup types. At the bottom of the page is the Backup List with listed backups.

On the other site (the non-functional one), the Backup Options include: (a) "Filename" with the filename in the box, (b) Backup type, and (c) User Password. At the bottom of the page is a "Restore Backup" panel with a choose file option and restore button.

I've made all permissions identical between the two sites (at least for all conceivably relevant files and folders). I've also tried putting in both my site and MySQL passwords, but neither of these passwords work. There are no backups in the DB Backup folder on this site.

In a potentially related problem, I've tried deleting images in the Images folder on the problematic site (of which I'm the Super Admin), and I get a message that I can't delete the files, because I'm "not the owner." At the same time, I can make any permission changes I want to all of the files and folders, and can delete other files in other folders.

This is driving me a bit crazy. shock

Any help is appreciated greatly!

Jeff

Hmm, well I don't know exactly what might be happening, but it sounds like the one you call "non-functional" is the one that looks the way it should?

Could you make screenshots of the two admin panels please?

I've attached the screen shots in a Word doc.

Although the one that "looks like it should" (my nonfunctional one), I'd at least like to get something working for backups. Also, when I click on the "choose file" button on the backup panel of the nonfunctional site, it will open to various folders on my computer. This would be okay, if I could back up. On the other site (functional), the backups are saved on the server in the DB Backup folder along with the index.php file.

the second one is the right one. For password you use the password for php-fusion, not mysql. if this doesnt work, reupload the backupfile.

The backup is not suppose to go into any folder, it's suppose to be a file you get to download.. Have you tried to use it with another setting other than gzip? say plain jane?
