Development is on-going (Dev Log). Right now we're working on xhtml compliancy. There's lots to do yet and no release date either. late Q2 or early Q3 is my best estimate atm.

i agree, why rush the dev team?

By taking time to make changes means they get them right fisrt time... unlike other software developers like... Microsoft

The PHPFusion releases have come out quite fairly - almost one per year, unlike Microsoft's OS'. But don't you think M$ is lazy. It's been so much time since a newer and better version of Duke Nukem was promised that their release date "when it's done" has almost become their trade mark. :p

Relax. V7 will follow it's development course and will be ready for everyone when it's done. :D By Christmas you might be talking about features for the next version.

Possibly the announcement of version 7 shoudn't as been public until it would be a few days thil it's release.
This way everyone is counting time and without a date it's worse.

Few things why users are being impatiant (i think):

- The dev log isnt updated frequently. (has been the same for a while now)
- There is no beta testing (to be seen in public) or a running beta online. (Maybe a good idea? I know other CMS systems do this...)
- There are no major changes in the CVS browser. A while ago there where beta scripts in the CVS but they are gone now... (maybe make an 2nd CVS with beta / alpha scripts?)

So users have no idea whats going on behind the scenes... They dont know how much time is spend on developing. Or what the exact progress is with v7 is.. Thats why they keep asking! ;)

Keep up the good work! :)

I think a beta release is a good idea. It would help the developers also.

Thanks for the update Digi.

Yes I know the question keeps being asked, but that's becuase we are all fans of this CMS - the monster that Digi + team have created.

It's good to have even a guess (Q2/Q3) - that's better than nothing.

I'm planning a re-launch of my site when V7 is released, so it's good to have a date -even if it is a guess.

:o Keep up the good work! :o :)

A cvs for v7 will be here soon, once i'm happy with the state of the code, ssorry i can't give a precise date, we just can't operate like thaf. Rest assured, we only want what's best for PHPFusion and our magnificent user base. I personally am in no rush, v6 as it stands is very good, very secure and suitable for all levels of experience. Thanks for your appreciation, I respect that.
