is this project dead or dying? i see people abandoning the php-fusion core for other CMS' talking about how some long time people in the fusion community said it was no longer going to be around since the passing of the founder...

PS: I asked the admins and they told me to post here so here it is...

Quite simple, the answer to your question is....

NO PHPFusion is not Dying and is not Dead.
PHPFusion is continuing to develop as normal and the project is not going anywhere, if anything the project is getting stronger.

People leave all the time this does not mean the project is dying. lol

If you take some time to read news on this site and on the dev site you can clearly see PHPFusion is not dying. lol

I understand this but if this is the case then your admins need to NOT say its dead to people and let the community know your still going strong instead of letting people think its abandoned. Its hard enough to navigate this site with content in 35 directions across 10 different sites.

What are you on about?

What Admins are saying the project is dead? (I will kill them) (if you don't want to tell me what admins said this in public send me a PM)

What you on about content 35 directions and 10 different sites?

If PHPFusion was going to die off why would they be developing V7.02 and V8?

Take a look around man you can clearly see PHPFusion is alive more than ever. lol

Sorry but I was only aware of 7.02 release and haven't had time to navigate the dev site, mod site and 10 other sites to catch up on all the activity around the PHPFusion project. This site is where i go to see whats going on with PHPFusion since it is the "Core" site. Because of this i didnt see that there was a version 8 in the works as I dont have links to all the other sites and this site does not link the children sites within its navigation. Thus having to google my way to the other sites or reading the forums etc to find my way around the community.

i currently have to navigate at least 5 separate sites to find infusions or mods since they are spread across tons of sites and not centralized (Your admins have mods on there sites and developers have some on theirs which they have not posted to the infusion core site probably due to the strict rules which are rarely followed when submitting a release). I know the rules are in place for a reason but this is software development. Bugs will exist and updates will need to be published to those packages (I know of about 5 mods in the current infusion addon db which throw errors when installed and need updates before someone else downloads them. EX: Developer Knowledge User Fields is one just for reference...).

A couple suggestions to maybe make this place a lot more active with the Addon DB is to modify the Addon DB to contain a patch submission piece for developers to submit patched updates with the core release of there product (theme, infusion or whatever) so they don't have to resubmit every time an update occurs. This should help with freeing up some of the pressure on the admins to test every single release that is submitted to the Addon DB... Another suggestion is to add a notification to the addons. When a new version of Fusion is added to the Addon DB have it notify the developers who submitted it so they can update there addons and re-release or submit a patched update for that version. Thus supporting new releases and old releases like other CMS's currently do.

As for people / admins saying stuff here is 1 site that has abandoned Fusion and stated some people told him it was a dead project which is what he is conveying on his site: http://l2insomnia.com/. You need to figure out who is saying this and either confirm it or squash it. I just spent some time converting a theme for him and now he abandoned it totally. Granted its his choice but it seems he received some bad information apparently.

So it was not an admin from PHPFusion Staff who said the project is dead?

Confirmation: PHP-FUSION IS NOT DEAD.

Haven't been able to talk to him to confirm who actually said it. When i know you will know. He is not one to take word of mouth unless it comes from an admin.

OK anyway it does not really matter, PHPFusion is 100% alive and kicking so now you know what you asked.

Have fun, relax and enjoy building sites using PHPFusion that is why we are all here at the end of the day.

Ok, calm down.

Your copyright is currently lacking the link to this site. Please fix it.
PHPFusion is not dead. Read the news items on this site.
We merged three sites in to one precisely because we felt as you, many sites to get different things. However it is still in buildup phase and may experience further changes.

And yes, Fangree_Craig is entrusted by MT to enforce our Copyright policy.

Whats with the headbutting? I asked a question merely because i was working on a side project and it got abandoned based on hear-say. I wanted to clarify and now i feel like i am in the middle of a damn ****ing contest just for asking a question. Why not tell Fangree to go approve my addon thats been pending for a week and stop replying before he annoys more people. Or delete it if thats how you feel again... Either way purge this horrible post. I will fix the copyright. No need for force feed me the rules.

You are attacking me for absolutely no reason at all. I do not understand it and if it makes you happy I am almost in tears and deeply upset about this.

I will leave this thread now and let you try and control someone else.

Good luck with your future here.
