Does anybody know where I could buy a good laptop for under a 1000 bucks. I need a larger monitor (over 15 of course, and a widescreen) with AMD Processer.

Anybody got any idea's or any point me the right way. thanks.

Don't know in the U.S. but in Europe the good deals are generally Acer, Asus or Futjitsu Siemens computers.

If you can live with a 15.4 you could have a look at this Acer:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Acer-A...tDetail.do
It has a big 120GB hard drive, a Double-layer DVD+/-RW and 1GB of DDR2 memory. State-of-the-art for just under $1000.

If you need less memory and disk you can find 17" within your budget.

Circuit City is widely spread, I'm sure you can find one near where you live...
