Ok... Please be gentle! I'm new to Opensource CMS and have limited web development experience in general. I've got just under 20 years software development under my expanding belt so I'm not a complete novice.

I'm looking to create a web application using LAMP and need a head start to get me on my way. I've looked at several opensource CMS packages and PHP-fusion impressed me the most. Before I commit hours of develpment to using PHP-fusion I need to know a few things.

Firstly, my app will require several layers of update privlages.

1. The "basic" user who can update various details associated with his/her own account.
2. The Admin user who can update various details associated with his/her own account and also update details for a group of "basic" users.
3. The System Admin who requires all admin functions and can update all accounts.

Can anyone advise me if this sort of thing can be easily done with PHP-fusion.

I've a million more questions for another time!

Sorry if this message is a bit long.

Any help is much appreciated.

You can give admins individual privileges for various parts of the admin sections.

Try to read page 35 and a few pages forward in the handbook which you can download here:

http://www.php-fusion.co.uk/downloads...?cat_id=15

Otherwise it's prety easy to install PHPFusion and just check things out.

Thanks for the reply Adnan. I figure I'll need to get in to a lot of customisation with what I need to do for my app so I guess I'll need a little more for #2!

for #2, i'm not sure the default package admin can be limited to just a certain group, and not everybody when u give him privilege to update accounts for other users.

but the rest is possible in fusion!

Adnan.
