I'm very new to PHPFusion, so apologies for the dumb question ... just want to make sure I don't screw up my site.

I want to upgrade from 6.01.11 to the latest 6.01.13 ... think it's best to stay up with the releases rather than fall behind.

Anyway, I've downloaded the 6.01.13 Up ZIP.

Unfortunately there are no instructions or readme in the ZIP.

What steps do I need to take to do to the upgrade ?

Thanks,
Stu.

I had restore my site from Backup ... Thank God that worked.

So I seem to be doing something wrong ... please can someone give me directions on exactly how to upgrade the site, below is what I did.

ALL help most appreciated :-

Site currently running PHPFusion 6.01.12

I did NOT put the site in maintenance mode.

I downloaded the 6.01.13U ZIP File.

I extracted the ZIp file which included 32 files.

I uploaded the 32 files to my site ... some of these overwrote existing files on my site.

At that point my site stopped working and I could not access it to run the Upgrade.

Clearly the above process is wrong.

Do I need to upload the files to a special directory ? or uload the ZIP file as a whole ?

Any help most appreciated.

Stu.

Was actually trying to upgrade from 6.01.12 to 6.01.13.

The site was installed as 6.01.12 so was sumply trying a minor upgrade.

I uploaded the 6.01.13U file ... which had 32 files all of which uploaded OK to the main director.

Anyone know how to get me out of this mess ??

I did exactly what you said and uploaded the files.

Now the site does not run at all.

What is wrong ... what have I done wrong.

I uploaded the files to the main directory and several files were overwritten ... I assumed this was to be expected.

However once the upload was complete nothing runs.

I type in the site address and nothing happens on the browser.

Should I have been in maintenance mode before the upload ... anyone any ideas ???

Help needed.

If you do not have any modded files on your site you can upload the files from the upgrade package without a second glance, go to Admin Panel -> System Admin, click on Upgrade and hit the button. If you have some modded files on your site, then check if any of the files in the upgrade package corresponds with the modded files, port the modifications to the upgraded version and upload that one (a program like WinMerge is excellent for comparing files and porting code modifications). Then follwo the same upgrade procedure via the Admin Panel.
You do the same for the upgrade from 12 to 13.

Perhaps my question was a bit open.

What steps do you need to take to go from 6.01.11 to 6.01.12

Do you just upload the new files to site ?
Do you need to run an upgrade program ... if so via the PHPFusion gui ?
Do you need to change any file permissions ?

I was just looking for an explanation on the upgrade process to follow.

I'm very new to this ... just need a little guidance.
