Well i'm taking the phpfusion plunge and have a question.

I use nearlyfreespeech for my server needs and cannot seem to get fusion to take my database settings, I have created a new "test" DB in mysql admin panel but when I get to step 4 of the setup process it gives me this "Error: Unable to establish database connection.
Please verify your MySQL settings."

what am I missing?

I use phpbb for this website http://aircoolednuts.nfshost.com/index.php

good to know it's apparently resolved though.
also, those broken image links, it could be that the web server capacity is high and it's loading slow the image isn't there or there's no read permissions, personally even though it's dangerous unless you protect it i chmod everything to 777

awesome! glad to hear :)
and no, chmodding everything to 777 doesn't allow "world" to delete stuff unless they somehow brute force everything. as long as your .htaccess is NOT 777 you're just fine with php fusion directories being 777. .htaccess is sometimes hidden of you use the cpanel file browser. if you use the filezilla file browser and set it to show hidden files, though, you will be able to see .htaccess and confirm that the permissions are something less than 777

if you're using cpanel make sure your account name is followed by your database settings.

e.g. your cpanel account on your host is turtles09
your database name is site
your database username is cookies

your database name would be turtles09_site
your database username would be turtles09_cookies
your password would be what you set it as and the host would either be
a) localhost
or
b) the host they provide you with

these settings do apply to windows hosts too (some). i've used wamp on my servers as well as home computer and i know you do not need to enter db info that way.

good to know it's apparently resolved though.
also, those broken image links, it could be that the web server capacity is high and it's loading slow the image isn't there or there's no read permissions, personally even though it's dangerous unless you protect it i chmod everything to 777
