I tried installing the community infusion for php-fusion 9rc4 but it errors out. What I am wondering is if the community infusion is necessary anymore for version 9.

Yes, it will. This website will use it as a backbone to run the community involvement in multiple areas. It's called Fusion Social.

I noticed it's for version 7. Was thinking about social like features with editable member profiles by members, perhaps their own page to blog on about topics, members own photo gallery, etc. I'm really wondering if 9 has or will have features as such.
