Hi there,

For the past few months I have been looking for a good CMS for my web site and so far I believe PHP Fusion is the best. However a good CMS isn't worth that much without the support communities around it.

I was worried about two news items that I read recently. The first one is the welcome message on http://phpfusion-themes.com that says that "PHPFusion Themes will no longer be the Official Theme site for PHPFusion". The second is the recent announcement that one of the staff members is stepping down.

Taken separately they do not look like something extraordinary. It is a fact though that they appeared closely one after another. And immediately questions arise:

1) What's going on with PHP Fusion community?
2) What happens next?
- New official theme site?
- New strategy/philosophy for PHP Fusion development?
3) Can I (or the other ordinary site members) help with something (and how)?

I would appreciate any comments from the moderators?

Thanks!

First of all - there's no need to worry. We have been working hard for last couple of months trying to make a more professional organisation for the project. And we are almost there by now. As soon as we have the last bits and pieces in place, you will hear more about this.

A new official themes-site is in the making. And a lot of new philosofies (management concept) for development, support and more is on the way as well. All made for one purpose only: making this project better, bigger and more responsive to user interests.

We can all help. By helping each other - and by backing up the new concept, hen it's implemented.

PHPFusion is one of the most secure, the most effective and most user-friendly CMS-systems on the web. It will remain that ... and grow.

Be assured that PHPFusion is going strong and there are several people working on improving this already fantastic CMS. There are already several folks busy behind the scenes laying out the groundwork to get things moving in an even better direction than ever before in the past. These people are confident, competent, and dedicated to making PHPFusion the best all-around Open Source CMS.

Due to different life circumstances, some of the original people involved with the development of PHPFusion have either left the project or have found themselves unable to dedicate the same level of time and effort as before. These things happen. We wish these people the best regards for the future and certainly hope that they can come back and play a vital role again someday, but this project cannot succeed and move forward while we wait for that to happen.

I'm personally excited about the future of Fusion. I already love this little CMS and I know that I'm going to see even better things to come. Stick around and I bet you will too.

In English? "Is that so? Good luck!! Good-bye..:D"

Please try to use English in the future so we can all understand...B)

Shedrock said he didn't like the "direction" PHPFusion was going. What on earth was he talking about?

Forward? That is the direction I know they are heading in...they are busily working on a new organization that will greatly improve the cohesion of support sites (mods, themes, etc). This also means that you'll start seeing real progress in the release of official mods/infusions. There are some extremely competent people in place that will enable Digitanium to focus on further development of the core while they handle other aspects such as every day support, testing and improving mods, formulating new documentation, etc.

I can't speak for SHedrock but he obviously did not agree with the way things were progressing. You can't please everyone but while he will be missed, there are many more to step in and fill his big shoes. Stay tuned and you should see some concrete information coming from the management team in the next few days.
