Does anyone know how to make code online editable?

I have this webhost that has an online editor available for all files, via a file browser.
Since I have other hosts that lack this "feature" I am curious as to how one would go about making this possible, not necessarily only for PHPFusion, but since I need it for a PHPFusion site, well, any one got any ideas?
I need it for online editing of the language files, many small changes, many small updates, and I really do not see the need to neither change host, nor be connected via ftp every time I stumble over a small change I want to do. I realize this may potentially be a security issue, but it all comes down to me willing to have it, and the security I am willing to implement via, say .htaccess.
I imagine this could work as Geshi or something in a folder that reads files in predefined folder and present their content. Access to the script could easily be accomplished vi htaccess, as mentioned.

One of the Danish users have made a "My File Edit" - that does the things you are requesting. You can DL it from here:

I d/l'ed this myself and installed it on my Fusion Mod support site. This works really really GREAT!!!
I have converted all Danish text/wording to English if any of you English admins are interested in trying/using it. I also changed the 'openside' to 'opentable' in 'startedit.php' because the file opens a center panel and 'openside' as a center panel just will not work correctly on my theme. I hope you don't mind; I went ahead and did localization on this mod and re-did it as an infusion. The d/l link in my previous post has been updated.

Im thinking... What about to keep the original name for this ?
If it was me that was the original author then I would be a bit "sad" when others have changed the name of my work.

not really smoke. Its not really any different for pimped fusion.... I get what your saying. people should be courteous enough to ask although they do NOT have to. in a way its nice not to have 20 infusions with rediculous version numbers.

Credits must be given and correctly. That is always a must in the GPL/AGPL world. But I have to admit that the original author did not comply with PHPFusion Credits in the first place.
Anyhow, fixed (I assume) nolonger an issue.

I've downloaded, uploaded and infused this most recent version of the online file editor but it is not working in that when clicking on the testfile.txt file, nothing happens. No little window opens that asks if I want to edit the file. What am doing wrong?
