I am extremely new to PHPFusion, so please go easy on me.

I know you can insert a photo into a forum posts with an URL, but is there a way to upload directly from your computer, an addon or something like that?

I come from the school of vB, but I can't deal with them anymore. I love PHPFusion so far (a few hours) due to the complete package with CMS etc, but would like some more bells and whistles. Are there any available available?

So that's a "no" then. :| To bad the forum section of PHPFusion is underfeatured. It seems to me it would be easy enough to include functions for members to upload images directly to posts (I know you can allow attachments) and also embed videos from popular video sharing sites such as Youtube. That would have made the forum section of the software a viable competitor to the dedicated forum big boys such as vB and IPB, and with your already existing CMS made it a knockout.

PHPFusion seems to be a valiant effort to make the complete, lightweight package, but in certain respects, just a tad too lightweight.

I see now that there indeed is a Youtube embedder below the message box that isn't included in my barebones test-install. I'll have to dig through the addons some more, I guess.

Aside from attachments, why would you want to upload images to a forum post?

You can use the bbcode to show images in a post so I don't understand the need behind this. If you want something where users can upload images on your site look for a user gallery addon.

That way people can upload images to your site and then if they needed to be shown in the forum they can link them with bbcode and the images will be on your site....

I don't mean any disrespect, but if you don't understand why anybody would want to embed a photo directly into a post (uploaded from your computer, not linked from an url) we're too far apart.

Thanks for your time.

Hi Mate,

Forum Attachments allows you to upload files and image files mate, You know that rite? (Maybe noo, or you would not be asking) Anyway yes you can upload images using forum Attachments and it displays the image in the post.
