Open styles.css and make the updates as mentioned below.

And just so you know, the header and footer use background images, which are a predefined width. The header width is 836px and the footer width is 839px. So what I ended up doing is scaling the image to 1000px. It should be ok, since it's not a big stretch. But keep that in mind.
