We've turned our static and internal IT website into a national IT community website - for all who work in IT depts around the country.

It tends towards the mad / surreal - but will grow and expand during the days and weeks (especially Friday afternoons, you know how it is).

Please visit, and join if you are another angry/bored computer professional.

cheers :) this PHP-fusion software really helped me create a community website in a single weekend. I'm a developer myself, but it it's nice to save hundreds of hours using something so easy yet powerful. I can save my own PHP skills to little addins :)

Slowly extending this site - using my own PHP knowledge, I'm hooking into the backend functions, and have created a very silly (and very very crude!) insult generator for our PHP site.

Probably a bit of a specialist mod/infusion - but maybe i'll package it up if anyone else wants an "insult generator" for their fusion site... fits with a silly / adult site.

Currently a custom page - but i might work on making it a proper infusion. oh well - it makes us laugh :D

If anyone reads this and has a php site that is related to meat gloves in some way (I.T. community, computing , or fun / silly!), contact me for a swap of links. Or just sign up if you work with computers and aren't over sensitive ;)

I thought I'd post just to show off the latest php fusion customisations I've made... I hope one will make you laugh...

I've written a php-fusion "Celebrity Top Trumps" page... I'm yet to write the stuff to let members add celebrities, but it works nice as it is; :D

I've also got my bookshop integrated and working now... which is nice.

Look here;
http://beta.phpfusion-mods.com/forum/...read_id=87

I took the standard infusion they are writing (it's only in beta test, but it is working ok for me) - then I've started fiddling with it - the default 'homepage' of the bookshop originally only has recommended books, so I added the search across the top for my site. Just thought it made it a bit more user friendly.

Got 6.1.0.2 up and running. and it hasn't broken any of my custom written php functionality. If you've not seen it, you might like the I.T. CV creator (new)... and we've got a brand new "I.T. quote of the day" on the top of the main page.

I'm really please with the site and php fusion - now got some 2,200 posts - that's a LOT of content (as well as 4 or so custom php mods) :D

Meat gloves has now had 74,000 uniques, nearly 4,000 posts of unique content.. custom php functionality and still growing :)

I'm actually interested to know how many people out there have high content sites (ok apart from the support sites and here :) ) I'm just nosey. Our meat gloves I.T. community site has been going for some time now, 96 members, and the content keeps stacking up (tech news, members rants and raves about computing). PHP Fusion is doing a great job - I've not noticed it slow down at all (some thanks go to MySql I guess).

Starting a PHP Fusion site is easy (cause the set-up works a treat), I guess it's actually having a living breathing site that keeps running that's the hard part. Luckily our members aren't scared of contributing, which is half the battle. :)
