um... just a thought, did you upgrade it? it might be calling for a new table that dosen't exist, that the upgrade.php would create. Although if you were to do that you'de end up probably having to upgrade your whole site :o

Just a thought.

if he's using the news.php from the CVS that is for v.400 ... and it has new fields added ... u can either try using a news.php from the latest public version v.306 from the downloads or preview this code in a custom page and it should remove that error for u, but then i dont know if it'll cause problems when v.400 comes out cause this alteration to the database will already have been made for ur database ... hmmm, ur call. the easiest thing, get the one from v.306, lol

<?php
$result = dbquery("ALTER TABLE ".$db_prefix."news ADD news_sticky TINYINT(1) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL AFTER news_reads");
?>

Unfortunately you have to allow commments for the readmore link to display in the two news post at the top of the list when using the double column layout if you have less than 3 news items.

If you have 3 or more the problem is half as bad - you only need to allow comments for the news post at the top of the list - i.e the latest news item.

What version are you running? "Read more" on the very first news works just fine on my site running 6.00.306.

6.00.304, 6.00.305 AND 6.00.306. It also works fine for me if I don't choose double column layout.

@SmotW - that's an easy fix ... just open news.php, and remove the red text from the following line of code

if ($news_info['news_extended'] || $news_info['news_allow_comments']) {

@AdnanAhmed

Thanks. I couldn't find anything when I first starting using Fusion which was prior to that post. I worked around it and never bothered to search again.
