@Razorblitz07 - Trust me, you won't get very many people signing on to your offer. Free is not such a good idea, and what are the insentives to working for free? Who benefits? I mean what are you offering these people? A chance to admin a site, then they might as well setup their own portal. Anyway, this is my opinion.

Good luck mate. :)

No actually, my plan is to make a very big GunZ Community. The benefits of working for me is to be part of it and actually take control. Why work for free? I dunno. It's up to you. If you wanna go for money, then rules get stricter. Working for free means youcan have fun, learn new things, and at the same time, get to know a lot of people and take orders from your boss. My staff joined because it's a fun job and we all love it. GunZ is a great game and so far my site is still improving. If you want to join us, come right ahead.

Your site will do fine and Members will come with time. Some members take the offer of being a Admin an honor. Maybe you should offer these positions to current members that seem to be the most active. But alot of members dont want the responsibility. They just want to visit the site long enough to find what there looking for and then leave. Its hard to find a dedicated Admin so I wish you the best my friend.

"Hiring" implies work for money.
I will work for money.

...or you better change that thread title...

Hehe, the reason you are getting so many (negative) responses is your use of the word "hiring", which obviously comes from the word "hire". From The Free Dictionary's definition of hire:

Quote

a. To engage the services of (a person) for a fee

That is why you are getting so much flak B). We do know what you really mean but its been a fun thread in any case.

"Volunteers" is a good word :D

As-in... "I could really use some volunteer staff to help with my site"

(Volunteers - never implies anything but a helping hand.) ;)

Dont take any of the posts too seriously though, people are just messin with ya. B)

You should mainly ask for "volunteers" at your site, Make it a news announcement, And offer to train them and even give them prizes, or rewards for participating, Maybe a custom title or something or a special "custom staff only avatar", People like to take part in things if they get something unique for their efforts, Doesnt have to be money it can just be something all their own.

Good luck what ever ya decide to do... B)

Razor, look at Kejonns post. That is exactly what I was after, but if you do not get it...(censored by KEFF!) you. :p

You should not use words that are normally associated with renumeration when all You want is freebies. Or is that another word you will not understand?

I'll take that as an insult. I do know what freebies means and I'll take your word on replacing the word, hiring, with the word, volunteering/volunteer staff. Yes, I do award my staff for their work.
