I have recently upgraded to Vista and have lost ability to log into all sites with Internet Explorer. Its a cookie problem that much i am aware of, but am unable to find what the problem actually is.

Any help would be appreciated.

I updated recently from XP to Vista premium. Did the upgrade and had all kinds of problems including the one your describing. I then did the fresh install option and everything worked fine after that.

I will say that you may have to tweak your settings after, like trying to install flash is not as simple as letting it D/L an install, it needs to be done as an admin. You will find that with lots of things.

Good luck.

This is a clean install of Vista as i didnt have an upgrade path. The account i am running is currently an Admin account.

I am at a loss with IE settings as to what setting it is thats causing the problem with the cookies.

I'm having similar problems. I have to continually clear cookies in IE otherwise I get a user unknown after doing the login thing. However, it stills logs me in correctly but I just "user unknown or invalid iD"

Sounds like some security issue. I had no problems myself when i tested vista. 3rd party antivirus or firewall may cause issues.

**Update**

Found the problem

"Protected Mode" was on by default, turned it to off and rebooted and logins work fine as expected. Seems to be an issue with writing the cookies when ie has "less" privileges at a guess.
