I have version v6.00.307 working very well with no problems whatsoever. I don't have rss or anything of a complicated version running.

What are the main benefits of switching over to 6.0.1.8 and what are the pitfalls?

Security fixes....

It is a simple upgrade unless you are using many photos on your site in the photogallery or other photo panels. If you have a lot of photos, then the upgrade takes a little longer.

We do strongly recommend all users to kep their site up to date, bugfixes are always a good thing, even if they bring some work along.
