hello,

well first may i introduce myself as the biggest noob to php-fusion:D. I saw a site that was powered by it and just though. wow. I need one of those. I know how to transfer the file to ftp and i hav downloaded them and everything but I have one major problem. I dont know where to put the file or how to set them out. I have read the instructions manual and it still doesn't explain. This is how the ftp of my current account with x10hosting.com is laid out at the moment when i enter my ftp.

www
tmp
public_html
access-logs
.trash
.cgi-bin

:o i dont know where i should put all of those files. I have read the readme (english) and just don't understand also what I have to change like the CHMOD :S what is that? you have to chmod the files with 777 :S:S:S:S:S. Although I have managed to change the blank config to config xD.

I either need serious posting help on this thread or private message instructions because I am totally clueless but would really appreciate help setting up my site. Your help will be seriously appreciated. Please feedpack :p Thank You D3x.

Hey Dex,

check out the files in the WWW and the Public_HTML folders. probably there's an HTML file named index.htm or default.htm. Make a copy of the file in the WWW folder and delete the original then see what you get in you browser when you access your domain. If the changes in the WWW folder don't do the trick do the same in the Public_HTML folder.

The best thing however is to read the 'manual' your hostingprovider gave you when registering your domain.
Please post that file on this forum, maybe others can help you out also. Knowledge about PHP / PHPFusion isn't
required yet, but knowledge about CHMOD IS!!!! If used wrong people can write files and change things on your domain!

I think the WWW folder is the folder where to upload the PHPFusion files.

Good luck!

cgi-bin - nvdata and datastore :S
.cpanel
.htaccess (not folder)

and here what I found in the public_html folder

cgi-bin
.cpanel nvdata and datastore
.htaccess (not folder)

they seem to be the same.

say i were to put the files into the www folder is this how i should set them out

php-files
update 1
update 2
update 3
cgi-bin
.cpanel
.htaccess

hhmmmm,

OK. Do you have an HTMl editor with which you can make a HTML page?
if so, create e blank HTMl file, type some text and save as index.htm.
Now upload this single file to First the WWW folder and access your domain with your Internetbrowser.
If you see the text you've typed in the index.HTML file than the WWW folder is the mostlikely place
to upload the PHP files.

If it doesn't show anything upload the index.htm file to the Public_HTML folder and see whay happens then.
If you can see the text then the public_html folder is the place to upload the PHP files.

I think I know this type of setup,

Go with public_html, the www directory should always be an exact copy of whatever you put in the public_html, I would upload to the folder public_html.
