Rename your avatar to "test.gif" and try it again.

Thanks slaughter, this was very helpful. I have the same problem. Test.gif worked, but how can I fix it to use all images? Whenever I upload test.gif it comes as the original image, so people can't upload their own test.gifs either.

you need to provide more information about your site. What host is it on? maybe an url and a test account so we can try uploading an avatar?

oh, then CHMOD wont do you any good :) No such thing on windows.

Then it's really weird, this should work fine then, lots of people have fusion running xp and xampp.
Could you attach an avatar you know does not work? Then we can try it on xp with xampp and se what happens.

Be sure to check that the avatar is the right format and the correct size and not over the KB limeit!

if it's on localhost then the folder is surely writable(CHMOD 777)
maybe you tweak on the scripts or something you misreplace?
because your avatar(that noob penguin) works very fine with me.
