there is should a *real* option to disable a user field instead of deleting it from the database. information is lost. someone might think that disabling the birthdate fields just doesnt show anymore and not that it is actually removed from the database and the information is lost.

so, these actions should be either renamed to "delete" and "create" or the behaviour should be changed.

I think you're a bit late for suggesting changes at this stage. However, I take your point, maybe it will be emphasised in the final release install notes.
