Folks:

Here's my request, per your requested form:

-------------------------------------------------------

URL to your site:

site is currently down for maintenance

Version of PHPFusion I am upgrading from:

6.00.303

Version of PHPFusion I am upgrading to:

7.00.05

Any mods you've made to your site:

Not sure. See Note 1, below.

Version of PHP:

4.3.11

Version of MySQL:

4.0

Have you searched for your problem: (yes/no)

yes

If so, what terms did you try:

6.00 upgrade

State the nature of your problem:

Must upgrade neglected 6.00303 site which has been hacked. I don't see
how to upgrade from 6.00.303, only from later 6.x versions. Also I need
maximum available handholding. See Note 1, below

Do you have a test account for us?

Will establish a test account if necessary,

-------------------------------------------------------

Note 1: The original author/webmaster disappeared. I'm the only available and willing replacement. I have had no technical contact with the site until the current crisis. I have web-authoring experience, I've done some PHP coding, and I've used several other PHP packages, but I have no experience with PHPFusion.

Note 2: We would very much like to retain as much of the current site state as possible. We have 2400 members and we would like to avoid having them all be required to sign-up again. We would also like to preserve our forum, news, and other content, if at all possible.

------

TIA,

Henry

Sorry, I thought you said in the other thread that I _could_ upgrade from to 6.01 and then to V7.

But I cannot find any upgrade for 6.00 on

http://php-fusion.co.uk/downloads.php?cat_id=3

The earliest starting version on that page is 6.0.1.4. Is there another place to look?

Sorry, I do not understand what you mean by "so you can retry many times". Do you mean that I should try the update intended for 6.0.1.4? If that works, then do the next one, and the next, as necessary? Maybe 10 total, before I reach 7.x. If so, I will be very experienced <grin>.

I know I can start with version 7.x as a new installation, but it is very important to me that I try every possibility to find a method of upgrading 6.00.303 to preserve the site's data.

Thanks,

Henry

this it the latest v6.01 version
http://php-fusion.co.uk/downloads.php...oad_id=190
it includes all files needed for a new installation OR an update from earlier version like yours.
You have to do 2 upgrade, 1 for v6.01.18 and the second to v7.00.05
Many times if something goes wrong.
