I have dropped my internet host and need some information off the old site. it is no longer online. it is backed up to my PC. Is there any way that I can view these files on my PC so I can Get the Infor I need off them?

The info is not stored on the physical files of the site. It is stored i a database. The database is called "something.sql" or if compressed "something.zip" or "something.sql.zip". The letters gz might also be involved. It all depends on HOW you backed up the database.

A SQL file is editable in any text editor such as Notepad or Notepad++ or Ultraedit. NOT Word or any Office text editor.
It will require some time and some browsing before you find what you need.
