My only complaint about PHPFusion:

In the News section, any links I post always takes the reader away from the site.

Is there a way to insert a "Open in New Tab" code for all links in News?

if you're using the tinymce editor you can set the target of the link to _blank. If you're not using the editor you need to have target="blank". Example Below:
