Multiple Fusion Sites - One install

Basically I want to uploade files *once*.
Is there any way to use select .php files in sub-directories and just have the other sites pull all actual files from one default directory?
It just seems silly that you have to maintain several entirely identical sites, and make changes to all of them.
Hoping it's possible is all.. Thanks!
