Hi again.

Hehe, we all have started some time - no one is looking at you as a noob in here. Here's place for all sort of users - may it be beginners as advanced coders too. ;)

Regarding your request: I guess you want to have this in a center-panel, right ? Like the Forum Threads List Panel ?

Yeah i guess thats what i mean... Not being much help am i

I want it to look like they are separate forums I.E Have the navigation direct to different parts of the forum for different subject matter.

ie Nav1 Would link to Forum Category 1 and its subforums

I think thats the same as what you said.

Basically my forum is so large as it is it would take an hour to get to the bottom of it if i leave it as it is lol.

I think thats the same as what you said.

Thanks again :-)

Well, if it's only links in the Navigation-panel you want that's linking to different forum-categories - then it's very easy to do this.

Log on to your site and go to: Admin Panel->System Admin->Site Links - and make a new link containing:

In the field "Link Name:" you type in eg; "Forum Cat 1" (you can change this to what ever you want)

In the field "Link URL:" you type in this URL "forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=1".

That's it - now you have a link in your navigation-panel that's named "Forum Cat 1" and that's linking to your forum-category 1.

Have you a link to the site so I can see for myself ?

Info: The URL you type in as the link should be forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=1

If you have a forumcategory = 1 and this category is availible to public-access then it shoud work.

Well, you got to have some content in these categories you're linking too. And this content must be set to public access. You can't link to a forum-cat that have no content in it.

You can do that from the admin-part of the site.

Right now you have forum_id=19 + 18 + 9 +10 and so on for public access.

But the one you're linking to in your navigation-panel is linking to forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=1

You should link to these categories that are availible - see the attached image for better explaining:

No - you have to create them like this - one by one seperately:

forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=19
forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=20
forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=21
forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=22
forum/viewforum.php?forum_id=23

Ah i think we have our wires crossed...

If you look at the picture you posted I want to get the premiership category and all the forums for that category underneath seperate from the Championship one on a separate page.

Do you see what i mean?

So.....

page 1

Premiership Forum: Threads Posts Last Post

The Premiership Arms 0 0 No Posts
Pre-match reports 0 0 No Posts
Arsenal 0 0 No Posts
Aston Villa
etc etc

Page 2

Championship Forum: Threads Posts Last Posts

The Championship Inn 0 0 No Posts
Pre-match reports 0 0 No Posts
Barnsley 0 0 No Posts
Bristol 0 0 No Posts

So within the site it looks like a completely separate discussion forum.

Sorry im really not explaining this very well am i lol
