there are categories to be defined for content:
- articles
- forum
- faqs
- downloads
- weblinks
- news
- and even a ALBUM is a category for the photos.

* articles: after you configured article categories but no article yet,
you get the ERROR "no article category defined".

* in FORUM and FAQ the category must be defined in the page for it, there is no admin link
for the category definition like for news, weblinks, articles, downloads

* there are many categories prepared for NEWS
but not for any other of above functions ( like a GENERAL ).
and thats a category definition with field NAME, IMAGE, without the field DESCRIPTION

* on other category definition there is no field for IMAGE

my idea:
a major cleanup for php-fusion 8
ONLY ONE CATEGORY TABLE FOR ALL.
prefilled with the existing NEWS categories ( now with field "description" )

this will clean up the admin content menu and make first use after installation much easier.

How about having one table for categories but you can set which content that category can be seen and used in.

Example:
category: Breaking News - Articles,News,Links
category: Hot Stuff - Articles, Photos
category: iPhone Apps - Articles, News, Links, Downloads

This way you can create a panel and show related "hot stuff" that is in Articles or Photos, etc. This flexibility will let you do many additional things.

well, no need to SET, just use it from news, articles, .....

but yes, the idea with the panel with the cross info is very good
