Is there any way to designate 2 groups to the same function, or would I have to add the user to both groups.

Sadly, one user -> many groups but not the other way. I hope that will change.

No wonder I did a roadmap on 8. In this case then. Adding users to groups should be done like adding admins. Username, then check the boxes to add them to the various groups. Need to update that post.
