I thought about it, but figured it would be a little annoying in some cases and decided not to go with it.

However, this infusion works by reading a directory of icons /infusions/favicon_panel/icons/

Any new/existing icons will automatically be fetched and displayed with the ability to check the radio button and use it.

So to keep it simple, upload your desired image into the /icons/ directory, then refresh the page and select your new favicon.

Do the grapics have to be in *.ico format or will it read *.gif's?

Some versions of IE have trouble with .gif files. The best practice that I'm aware of is using .ico files. However, I believe they may become depreciated as .png and .gif files are more accessible.

Some browsers, such as Firefox/Opera, support animated .gif's.

Your best bet would be to try it. You can upload .jpg, .png, .gif files into the /icons/ folder and it'll automatically fetch to the script for selecting.
