Hi, I really have been waiting for so long to see this new version but i was very disappointed, seriously the new version gives me a headache every time i visit php-fusion.co.uk, im wondering if all themes have to be like this, if so will the previous version still be supported here ? Thanks,
If you can try and explain why it gives you a head ache maybe the Developers can make good use of your feedback to help improve the users experience. I am sure simplicity is still high priority as is end user simplicity of use on this here site.
It is new to us all, it will take some time to get used to it but just explore you will soon get used to it and you will forget all about Arise.

Yes, this not 8, this is not a new version. This is a new Theme with some new methods for PHPFusion.
It is always hard to please everyone, some say it is great, others don't share that opinion while some need tweaks before they are pleased. If you have specifics to share, please do so but refrain from remarks such as this is crap, annoying etc etc etc. See CoC section 2.5. 2.5 All posts must make sense http://www.php-fusion.co.uk/coc.php.
We know that some sections need tweaking for better overview, stay tuned for updates.
If he is using Chrome than yes it gives a big headache because it has bugs, I started using Mozilla to view the site.
We where used to the old theme layout and knew where we can find everything and now it's a bit confusing. But with time we will get used to the layout.
If we are talking about the forum here, yes, the LAFT will be remade because I find it too, quite complex even we can view more active threads than before. (I am thinking a better possible method here). A new page will be created to store the forum cats again.
As day passes, I'm still very much pre-occupied with and especially the forum more than ever. Should any suggestion come from public, I'm willing to listen and evaluate.
I take it as constructive input here, yes and thank you for the support, and the apologies for your 'confusion'. There is much to be thought here for all - our development is a lot faster and implemented lately.
At the end, it's the community which benefits from this escalation.
You are doing very good. It's shaping up nicely your fast. Great man, saviour!
A Solution for the LAFT hmmmm!! *Thinks*
Aye, FP Forum Tabs Panel on PHPFusion Mods UK, simply 4 max tabs 1 for latest active post from all forums like normal, and the other 3 for what forum boards you wish.
Sweet, hope it go's well. If, even adding more tabs than 4 is easy enough for you anyway. I hope some kind of nice solution comes into your mind I know it will coz your imagination is very wide open.
The potential is great, Atom-X is very promising indeed and I like many of the individual features and layout. I do however concur with the slight confusion in finding e.g. the forums and some navigation issues. This is being considered as mentioned above and I really hope our visitors understand that this is a new take on the layout for PHPFusion, a new Theme engine and as such, an example of it. This site, and perhaps others, should showcase the possibilities we have, even the more extreme ones. This is still a Theme under construction and our Devs will find a good spot for everything. :G
Also, from my slight experience with adapting sites for Tablets and Touchscreens, it is kinda tricky to get used to the fact that you can not have active onClick links with subLinks in a Menu, the first MenuItem must be a placeholder if subLinks are used.
The only thing that looks rather strange for me is the width of theme. I was expecting it to be like ~85% of width, not the 95%. Now it looks just too wide, especially in forum (my resolution is 1440x900)
We cannot possibly please all users, some people want changes really bad, some people want everything to stay the way it always was and that's where the challenge is, where to position this CMS on that scale.
As for people making critical remarks, it would be really nice and helpful if you gave more input than just stating the obvious fact that you're not happy, we're in this for developing and enhancing this CMS and good articulated points of views are always welcome.
And, all new things take time to adjust to, for us all. That's no reason to stay where we were.
The author is right about one thing, the forum design needs to be changed. Please wait for a new version I'm working on now for the index page. No fuss. Just tell us what you don't like next time.
It gets exciting when we have to explain that "no, this is just a v7 theme." That's just epic.
I feel I need to weigh in here because I too find this theme causing discomfort while looking through the site. These are the top three points I find causing my eyes actual, physical, discomfort.
1) The contrast of the white text on black background in the different headers and footer is difficult to read. I personally get a blurred effect (the text looks blurry). The following article talks about why some people (50% of the population per the article) have issue with this specific color setup with text and backgrounds. (http://graphicdesign.stackexchange.co...ht-on-dark)
2) The red and blue sides seem to be stressing my eyes a bit. However, after covering up the black on white at the top and bottom my eyes do not strain as much, so the red and blue may not be an actual issue.
3) The images of people doing random things in both the banner and forum area is, in my opinion, unnecessary. They make the areas look too busy, causing me to have to scan the area more in order to find the text I want to read.
