Thread subject: Official Home of the PHPFusion CMS :: PHP-Fusion 7 backup to PHP-Fusion 9.

Greetings!

Apologies in advance if this is the wrong part of the forum to ask about this.

I've been using PHP-Fusion cms since 2007 and I loved every bit of it. Recently, I decided to put my old site for an old IRC community back. Unfortunately, after multiple tries of installing php-fusion 7, I gave up as I couldn't get past the mysql database part on install.

So, I decided to try the latest version in hopes that I could use my old backup so I could restore all the forum posts from my old website to the new one with the new version. To my sadness, I couldn't do it.

Is there any way I could go about this? Or is it a lost cause? Any tips would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Sherby.

There is some guide here on the Forum for converting PF7 to 9.

Default upgrade will not work because PF7 does not run under PHP 5.4 or greater.

Hi, Falk! And thank you for your reply. Quick question (just making sure) - does this mean that I can use any PHP, Apache, and database (versions) on a spun-up VM from my server, and use your tutorial in order to have a successful installation of PHP-fusion7?
