I can't even begin to say how much I appreciate your work. It has led me to create things of my own. Through your work, I have been able to base a community that inspires the youth to be active leaders in the world. Through the study of your creation, I have grown to be a more intelligent and hardworking person. You have inspired more people than you could have known. Once again I thank you for your life's work.

to the mother of Nick Jones: your son had a great talent, all using php fusion going and miss him, it came as a shock when I read it on the php fusion Norway, and he has just where he is now as when he was in life. but he should not have died so young.

So tell me, my very dear long lost old friend... If you had known back then, when you started to code your CMS, and had been able to foresee the impact all of this would have had on so many peoples lives... Had you still written it? I'm certain you would've...

I know you always preferred things short and simple, you complained, rightly so, on all of my essays, as you put it. I'll try to keep it short, then again, we probably both know by now I will miserably fail in doing so!:)
It is with disbelief and severe scepticism I write this, is not at all that long ago we spoke together and now you're supposedly gone? It just doesn't add up, Mr Jones, my math fails me bigtime here, see. Last time we had ourselves a somewhat longer chat, we spoke about the possibilities for me to take a small vacation to the UK and you told me I was always welcome to visit you over there. And how comforting a thought it was, the idea to visit you, your Mum and little Timmy. Even if just a thought, as it were, it kept me warm, alive and kicking.
As a stark contrast to all of the other testimonials on this site, I can proudly say that all of these years with PHP-Fusion hasn't taught me how to code a single line of code! And, that was part of the beauty with it all, even total noobs like myself could make a change, a difference even, within this project without the skills normally required. All that was needed was a good idea, you picked it up and made some code for it... That made this project very special, we all had a place and a function to fill. Non-developers and developers did sometimes actually develop things together! Like equals.
It's hard to write this, yet, also remarkably light and tears of grief mix with bursts of laughter. You had such an incredible sense of humour and was able to put a smile on my face for days, I sometimes giggled out aloud on the bus when I thought about your jokes... (So, some people on the bus thought I had lost it, big deal, I had actually found it!)
I imagine you did inherit quite a bit of that lovely sense of humour from your Mum, Sue. I remember calling your house a few years ago and you were laughing so hard I was afraid you'd lost your marbles. When I asked you what it was that was so funny, you told me that Sue had helped you to change DVD-player on your computer and that she had installed it upside down! A simple and minor matter like that did not discourage a woman like Sue though, she just told you to simply turn your computer upside down and all would be working just fine!:) That's the way you two went on about it and it was such a joy to be able to tap into that every now and then, it made me a much happier man...
I've already written to long and probably too sentimental for your taste, big deal, just do what you always did, shout GERROFF!:) As if that ever had any effect...
Friends in life, friends for life and now, I'll keep on being your friend for whatever comes around next corner, see. We will carry your work, your spirit and your extremely good example to the next generation of people that for one reason or the other wish to give PHP-Fusion a nice try. I hope that you did find this trip together a good one, every now and then I'm scared, thinking we asked to much of you, made your life more miserable and troublesome with this software and all of the endless discussions it spawned than was good for you. Then again, I hope you did have some fun during the process as well. Hopefully for the better...
Goodbye Nick and thanks for everything we shared that now must last us a lifetime. Gustaf sends his greetings too. Cheers beers.

When I created our website, I was lokking fpr a CMS that fit to my visions for a website. After testing some CMS I landed at PHP Fusion.

I haven't known Nick Jones in person, but it must be a wonderful person, that supplies a great work like PHP Fusion as open Source CMS.
The whole team from Puresoundradio.de sends deepest condolences to the family of Nick Jones and all of their friends.
Nick Jones - the unifying force of a great community - has been a great inspiration to every true fusioneer. On a personal level, I remember Nick as a warm person, who never broke out - in spite of his condition, which he refused to look upon as an illness. It all shows the strength of the character of a physically weak man, whose condition never dampened his spirits. After a long-standing friendship and working relationship, I want to say thank you. My thoughts and prayers are with Nick's family - and his mother, Sue. Requiescat in pace.

A few years ago I was looking for a CMS to run my website. I'd never used a CMS before and stumbled across PHP-Fusion. It's features at the time were cutting-edge and to some extent - still are today. The PHP-Fusion forum has brought together some great helpful people from all around the world.

Nick created this software and will be his legacy that lives on, running hundreds - if not - thousands of websites.
